In 1963, Hans J. Wegner unveiled the design of the Shell Chair, which received mixed reviews due to its avant-garde appearance. Limited production techniques at the time and divided opinions resulted in limited production. It wasn't until 1998, when Carl Hansen & Søn reintroduced the Shell Chair, that the chair gained broad public admiration.

The chair exudes a floating lightness, thanks to the wing-like seat and curved backrest supported by a frame with three curved legs.
